Alyssa Hill was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. After graduating from high school she attended the North Carolina School of the Arts for Filmmaking. She decided to attend NCSA because unlike other colleges at the time, the school had a hands-on approach to filmmaking for art direction. She learned to hand draft, build flats, and create models.

After receiving her BFA, Alyssa moved directly to Los Angeles and landed her first job as an Art Department Coordinator on a pilot for TNT called Truth In Advertising. She spent several years as a coordinator learning from wonderful Art Directors and Production Designers on a variety of shows such as The Unit, Chuck, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and The Bridge.

In 2016, Alyssa was hired as an Art Director for Live to Tell. Since then, she has been an Art Director on I'm Dying Up Here, Sneaky Pete, and Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. In this position she is responsible for management of crew, breakdowns, budgets, scheduling, graphics, and set design. She has learned a great deal about working with different departments and helping them work together to achieve a set with the designers aesthetics and production needs in mind.
